Overview:
Atlassian is looking for an experienced production veteran to join the Creative Studio, our diverse and vibrant internal creative agency. As Head of Creative Production, you will oversee a team of Producers and Project Managers running film, digital, events, and outdoor projects. Your team will drive and deliver impactful work that supports Atlassian’s global marketing and business goals.
This is a role for someone who is driven to create and manage best-in-class production work with experience leading teams, building processes and playbooks for production, as well as a thorough understanding of production across disciplines of film, print, experiential, events, and digital. Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships is a must, as is a great knowledge base and passion for content creation itself. This role will tightly partner with internal Creative, Marketing, PMM, Procurement, Legal, and the Events teams, as well as external production partners and creative agencies. This person must be creative, amiable, adaptive, quick on their feet, solutions-driven and organized to ensure high quality work is delivered on time in a fast-paced environment. Industry expertise at a recognized creative agency and/or client-side experience is a must. This candidate will have a proven track record managing productions of all kinds as well as internal operations. Please bring a portfolio of best in class work.
In this role:
You are a strong, independent thinker, leader and decision maker with a proven track record of delivering work on time and within budget.
You have deep film production experience for broadcast advertising, as well as product-focused, keynote video content.
You are consistent and calm under pressure, pragmatic but solutions oriented
You are an expert at building rapport and consensus amongst a wide range of stakeholders, internally and externally.
You have a comprehensive understanding of business affairs and legal issues relating to advertising production
You have extensive experience working with Product Marketing and internal Brand and Creative teams.
You are quick on your feet and able to explain complex issues, risks and alternative solutions clearly and effectively.
You have a deep Rolodex of and relationships with vendors, reps, and production houses
You have superior estimating, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating and project management skills.
You are an expert negotiator with production costs and you know what can be done, and done well, for 25k to 2.5M.
You have proven experience and success with live action shoots, photography shoots, digital projects, activations, events, talent and contract negotiation and licensing.
You are adept with project planning (goals, budget, schedule, and scope).
You thrive in a fast-paced, global environment with a great deal of autonomy.
You are comfortable sorting through ambiguity and strive to provide clarity for the teams you work with.
You are an energetic and creative problem solver.
You have expertise working on large initiatives across timezones.
You have extensive experience with project managing internal projects as well as managing external agencies and production vendors
You have a deep love of storytelling that pushes creative boundaries.
Your background:
10+ years of creative production and film experience on an internal creative team inside a Creative Agency and/or internal Brand Marketing team. Bonus points if both!
Demonstrated taste and craft across production work that is proven in portfolio work.
Strong business acumen, with a solid understanding of how to achieve objectives while meeting an expected brand standard, a high bar for aesthetic quality within set budgets and schedules.
Experience working with celebrity talent and talent agencies
Comfortable managing vendor procurement, payments and legal partnerships.
Can be a player/coach, and change elevations depending on the need
Experience directly managing multiple teams and work across local and remote design, production and product marketing teams.
Strong relationships with external production partners locally and globally.
Excellent negotiation skills (especially contract and budget negotiations) with clients, peers and partners.
Superior leadership and communication skills.
Experience and affinity for Atlassian products and brand.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $196,200 - $256,150
Zone B: $177,300 - $231,475
Zone C: $162,900 - $212,675
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
