We are seeking a dynamic Director-level HR Business Partner to lead strategic special projects that accelerate the impact of our People function. This role sits at the intersection of HR strategy, business transformation, and technology innovation, with a strong emphasis on applying AI and emerging technologies to reshape how we support leaders, employees, and the business.

You will partner closely with the VP of HRBPs, business leaders, and cross-functional partners to design and deliver initiatives that advance organizational effectiveness, elevate leadership capability, and modernize the HRBP operating model.

This is a unique opportunity for a forward-looking HR leader who is excited to experiment, challenge norms, and create scalable, tech-enabled solutions that redefine how HR drives business value.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Projects & Transformation

    • Lead and execute high-priority, cross-functional projects sponsored by the VP of HRBPs (e.g., workforce planning, leadership development, operating model redesign).

    • Serve as a strategic advisor on organizational design, change management, and business transformation.

  • AI & Future of HR

    • Partner with People Tech and AI teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve HRBP workflows, talent processes, and leader/employee experience.

    • Pilot and implement AI-driven tools for workforce insights, employee engagement, and productivity.

    • Act as a thought leader in AI adoption across the HRBP community, building capability and readiness.

  • Business Partnership & Influence

    • Provide targeted HRBP support to select business leaders during critical moments of transformation.

    • Use data and analytics to influence decisions and measure impact of programs.

  • Innovation & Capability Building

    • Design and scale best practices for HRBPs to embed AI-driven approaches in their daily work.

    • Coach and upskill peers and business partners on navigating the evolving HR tech landscape.

Qualifications

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable,
and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than
that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline.
Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience.
In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges
for new hires in each zone are:


Zone A: $250,200 - $326,650

Zone B: $225,900 - $294,925

Zone C: $207,900 - $271,425


This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
