As the Head of Engineering, Talent Tech, you will drive the technical strategy, execution, and delivery of innovative solutions that empower Atlassian’s talent management, acquisition, and development platforms. Key Responsibilities
Set and execute the engineering vision and strategy for Talent Tech, aligning with Atlassian’s broader organizational goals.
Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing, diverse engineering organization, including multiple teams and managers.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, People, and Business teams to deliver impactful solutions for talent acquisition, onboarding, learning, and career development.
Own end-to-end delivery of complex, scalable, and secure systems, ensuring high quality, reliability, and compliance.
Drive architectural decisions, technical standards, and best practices across the Talent Tech portfolio.
Champion data-driven decision making and leverage analytics to inform product and engineering priorities.
Represent Talent Tech engineering in executive forums, providing clear communication on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent, fostering career growth and engagement.
About You
12+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles (Director/Head/VP level), ideally in SaaS or enterprise environments.
Proven track record of leading large, distributed engineering organizations (50+ engineers) through periods of growth and transformation.
Deep experience building and scaling talent, HR, or people technology platforms is highly desirable.
Strong technical background in modern cloud architectures, distributed systems, and data-driven applications.
Demonstrated ability to set technical vision, drive execution, and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Exceptional people leadership skills: coaching, mentoring, organizational design, and fostering inclusive cultures.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence.
