Responsibilities

A a Principal Product Security Engineer you will be the Technical SME, promote automation, review platform and service designs and architecture and drive our security teams to equip the engineering partner teams with the latest tools, techniques and methodologies to improve data security. You will be responsible for partnering with our security teams and leadership groups across Atlassian's vast footprint to uplift our security programs.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Demonstrated expertise and experience working in security-focused roles

  • Experience leveraging AI capabilities applied to security use cases

  • In-depth experience in data protection and privacy

  • Experience with application security, especially web applications

  • Experience in cloud security architecture and infrastructure

  • Experience coding in Java, Javascript, Python, or Go, and at least one scripting language

  • Experience leading large-scale projects from start to finish and mentoring other security practitioners

  • Adept experience providing SME knowledge and guidance to stakeholders and engineering functions

It's great, but not required if you have:

  • CVE's to your name

  • Contributions to open-source security software

  • Delivered industry presentations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role within product security, with 2+ years of experience.

  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscape, and best practices.

  • Strong knowledge of data security, privacy, encryption, and authentication methods.

  • Experience with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, FedRAMP, or similar.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable,
and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than
that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline.
Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience.
In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges
for new hires in each zone are:


Zone A: $221,400 - $289,050

Zone B: $199,800 - $260,850

Zone C: $184,500 - $240,875


This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
