In this role, you will primarily be responsible for month-end and year-end close activities including preparing intercompany accounting journals, balance sheet reconciliations, certain functional expense accruals, assisting with year-end audit deliverables and related day to day operations of the business. As an Accounting Manager on the General Ledger team, you will act as an individual contributor, handling all aspects of intercompany accounting, including intragroup cash transfers, eliminations, consolidations, closing intercompany ledgers, and reconciling these areas. You will also serve as the point person for the broader team on intercompany related questions.

Your Future Team

This role will be a member of the General Ledger accounting team at Atlassian which is responsible for looking after the general ledger and running the month end close process, our work includes most general ledger accounts except revenue and tax. In this role you will work with various members of the international accounting team to meet monthly deliverables. You will also be liaising with the external accountants on a regular basis to ensure that all accounting compliance matters are up to date.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the intercompany accounting process across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of intercompany transactions including intercompany elimination, revaluation, translation and consolidation.

  • Maintain the intercompany subledger and any downstream subledgers, focusing on managing automations and data integrity.

  • Oversee accounting and close activities for assigned areas including debt, certain functional expense accruals, journal entry preparation, reconciliation preparation, and fluctuation analysis.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the finance organization, including the controllership, corporate accounting, FP&A, treasury and tax teams, to provide guidance and support on intercompany matters and expense accruals.

  • Work directly with internal and external auditors, by maintaining and providing support to the audit team for walkthrough procedures and manage audit support requests related to intercompany, eliminations and consolidations workstreams.

  • Partner with IT and automations teams to continuously improve system automation to help scale accounting operations.

  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of work experience required in multinational companies, preferably in a public company environment subject to SOX.

  • 2-4 years of public accounting preferred (Big 4 accounting experience preferred).

  • CPA or equivalent required. Experience in US GAAP and IFRS preferred.

  • Strong knowledge base of Oracle Fusion in a multi-currency environment required, with a desire to improve process efficiencies.

  • Experience working on eliminations, consolidations, and intercompany accounting in Oracle Fusion required.

  • Experience in GL accounting including accruals, debt accounting, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations (in BlackLine) and journal entries, and experience assisting with quarterly/yearly audits preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel required.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability for self-review.

  • Highly proactive, organized, with a strong work ethic, and seeking a role as an individual contributor.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels at the company.

  • Ability to be available some evenings to meet with APAC team required.

  • Preference will be given to candidates based in PST hours.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $133,200 - $173,900

Zone B: $120,600 - $157,450

Zone C: $110,700 - $144,525

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
