Overview

Working at Atlassian

Atlassians can choose where they work – whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

Atlassian is hiring a senior finance leader to oversee and drive our Corporate FP&A team. Reporting into the Head of Revenue and Corporate FP&A, this role will lead the team responsible for corporate planning processes, strategic investment decision analysis, M&A finance, and business insights. This is a highly visible role that works in close partnership with the executive team and our strategy organization.

In this position, you will build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, globally distributed team that owns the company’s long-range and annual operating plan (strategic allocation of resources through execution of annual plan), the corporate roll-up and messaging (telling the story to the board and our investors), and supports company-wide financial strategy and decision-making.

Responsibilities

In this role you’ll get to:

  • Lead the global corporate FP&A team including hiring, mentoring, and providing clear direction on strategy, goals, and development.

  • Lead the Earnings process and take full ownership of the company’s Free Cash Flow model, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.

  • Lead budgeting and planning processes, including long-range planning, the annual plan, and monthly/quarterly processes.

  • You will prepare and deliver executive and board-level reporting, partnering directly with the investor relations team, our CFO and additional C-suite leaders to shape financial narratives and external guidance.

  • Own internal messaging on company performance and financial strategy.

  • Communicate to all audiences across the company, including Board, C-suite, and the executive leadership team, the Atlassian financial strategy and priorities along with rationale supporting decisions to grow profitably.

  • Play a leadership role in shaping the long-term strategic narrative for internal and external partners.

On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, with at least five years in leadership positions overseeing corporate finance teams.

  • Deep experience leading company-wide planning, forecasting, and board-level reporting in a high-growth, public company; SaaS preferred.

  • Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing distributed teams.

  • Strong executive presence, and the ability to craft deliver effective narratives. You should have the ability to manage stakeholders at a variety of levels, with particular experience working with and tailoring communication to executives and board members.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics), MBA is a plus.

  • Prior experience in the technology industry required, Cloud/SaaS is a strong plus.
