Overview

Shape the future of research at Atlassian: Lead high-impact operations, scale AI-enabled systems and drive strategic communications that amplify insights and influence decisions.

Your Team

You’ll join Atlassian’s Research Operations team and play a pivotal role in scaling operational systems that empower researchers and Atlassians to deliver faster and more impactful insights. As a senior member, you will drive high-priority strategic projects to increase the influence of customer research in business decision making. Reporting to the Business Portfolio and Research Operations Manager, you will collaborate closely with peers in Research Operations and with cross-functional partners across Design, Product, Engineering and governance functions including Privacy, Legal, Procurement and Finance.

Our team thrives on curiosity, experimentation and continuous learning. We are distributed-first, inclusive by design and committed to operational craft excellence as the foundation for research impact.

Working at Atlassian

Atlassians can choose where they work – whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Lead strategic research operations initiatives: Own and drive end-to-end delivery of programs that accelerate speed to insight and scale AI-powered research practices.

  • Advance participant operations: Shape governance, automation and best practices for participant panel management, ensuring compliance, ethical use and efficiency.

  • Evolve the AI-led research tech ecosystem: Lead evaluation, integration and optimisation of modular tools and agents, including budget management, vendor relationships and AI-driven automation.

  • Drive research enablement at scale: Design and deliver programs such as toolkits, automated agents, training and office hours that uplift research maturity and empower non-researchers to confidently engage in customer connection.

  • Amplify insight communication: Partner with research leadership to design and deliver strategic communications including monthly synthesis, blogs and points of view that extend the reach of insights and influence product direction.

  • Mentor and coach peers: Guide and support colleagues in operational practices, AI literacy and effective communication, fostering growth and continuous improvement across the team.

  • Standardise, automate and scale operations: Establish scalable systems and practices that reduce duplication, improve quality and drive operational consistency.

  • Measure and communicate impact: Define and track key metrics that demonstrate operational effectiveness, efficiency and influence, and translate results into clear, persuasive narratives for stakeholders.

  • Champion safe and ethical practice: Ensure that research operations align with legal, ethical and compliance standards, shaping policies and frameworks that build trust.
