The Legal Tech team builds and supports applications that power Atlassian’s legal, compliance, and governance functions. We partner closely with Legal, IT, and Security to deliver robust, scalable solutions that streamline legal workflows, automate compliance, and ensure data integrity.
You’ll join a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and legal professionals. We value curiosity, collaboration, and a drive to solve complex problems with elegant technical solutions.
Design, build, and maintain integrations between Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, etc.) and legal/compliance systems (e.g., contract management, eDiscovery, regulatory reporting)
Develop and support custom applications and automation tools to streamline legal workflows and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Collaborate with legal stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring security, scalability, and maintainability
Evaluate and implement integration patterns (REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, ETL, event-driven architectures) to connect internal and third-party systems
Empower self-service operations through automation, system integrations and structured intake
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to application performance, data integrity, and system interoperability
Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps for legal tech initiatives
Document solutions, integration patterns, and best practices for internal teams and stakeholders
3+ years of experience as an Application Engineer, Integration Engineer, or similar technical role
Hands-on experience with integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Zapier, Workato, Boomi, or custom middleware)
Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and data transformation (JSON, XML)
Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and their APIs
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Familiarity with legal or compliance systems including CLM, eDiscovery, GRC platforms (Ironclad, Onna, OneTrust)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Knowledge of security and privacy best practices in legal tech
Familiarity with workflow automation tools (e.g., Jira Automation)
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
