Your future team

We're looking for an experienced Senior Counsel to join our dynamic and collaborative legal team at Atlassian!

You’ll join a team of legal professionals growing our Transformation and Scale function at Atlassian that partners with the business and our Legal team to develop and execute team strategy, especially around our contracts, tools and metrics. You will be an individual contributor reporting to the Senior Director, Transformation and Scale, who in turn reports to the Deputy General Counsel - Commercial and Global Business Operations.

What you'll do

  • Partner with others across the Legal team, thinking strategically and holistically, to manage and update our contracts and related documents, like playbooks

  • Support our Advisory Services organization in engaging with customers and developing new offerings to assist with product implementations and data center to cloud migrations

  • Advise on complex Legal issues, including as relates to our contract documentation and the services business

  • Take a collaboration-first mindset, understanding that the best work product comes from considering multiple viewpoints and improving together

  • Learn and engage with Atlassian products, both to understand Atlassian’s business and collaborate with peers and stakeholders

Your background

  • 7+ years practicing law

  • Juris Doctor and license to practice law in a US jurisdiction

  • In-house experience at a technology company, B2B SaaS preferred

  • A knack for distilling complex concepts into clear language and pragmatic solutions, both in contracts and in communication

  • Demonstrated success managing complex processes with multiple stakeholders

  • Demonstrated growth mindset

  • Demonstrated success in a dynamic, fast-paced and matrixed organization

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $192,800 - $257,000

Zone B: $173,500 - $231,300

Zone C: $160,000 - $213,300

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
