Responsibilities

Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Talent Retention Specialist with a strong focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This role will be responsible for developing and implementing programs aimed at retaining a diverse workforce and ensuring an inclusive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DEI research and a proven track record in human resources and talent management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive DEI-focused talent retention strategies to reduce turnover and increase employee satisfaction among underrepresented groups.

  • Work with our People Insights team to scope and regularly assess employee engagement and satisfaction through surveys, listening sessions, and other feedback mechanisms, with a focus on DEI.

  • Analyze DEI-related data to identify trends and areas for improvement in retention efforts.

  • Collaborate with HR team members, talent team, and business leaders to address DEI-related retention challenges and implement solutions.

  • Create and manage DEI programs focused on career development, mentorship/sponsorship, and employee recognition, ensuring they meet the needs of diverse employee groups.

  • Develop and facilitate DEI training sessions and workshops tailored dor leaders to enhance employee engagement and retention.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of DEI retention programs and make adjustments as necessary.

  • Support sustainable ERG growth and development as a retention tool. Work with ERG Chairs to build strategies and budgets that support community engagement and retention.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in DEI and talent retention.

  • Provide regular reports to senior management on DEI retention metrics and program outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Sociology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on DEI, talent development, talent management, and employee engagement.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful DEI-focused talent retention programs.

  • Strong facilitation skills and understanding of adult learning theory.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret DEI-related data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple DEI initiatives simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of DEI best practices and current regulations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) or DEI (e.g., Certified Diversity Professional).

  • Experience with HRIS systems and DEI analytics platforms.

  • Familiarity with organizational development and change management principles.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $169,300 - $225,700

Zone B: $152,400 - $203,100

Zone C: $140,500 - $187,300

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
